John Piper is such an anointed guy.
This video reveals the sweetness and genuineness of John Piper’s personality. It also reveals his desire to live in the power of the Holy Spirit as well as Piper’s own experiences with the Charismatic circles, which he actually had plenty of. I saw this video months ago and I loved it then but it was super encouraging today because I have been struggling with my own issues with the Body of Christ and this brought some peace and resolution.
I personally find it tragic that the Evangelical of the more conservative or Reformed tradition tend to be absolutely frightened by the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit, and I find it tragic that the Evangelical of the more Charismatic or Pentecostal tradition sometimes find it unnecessary to dig into theology and walk in constant testing of the spirits. I am not bashing all conservative Evangelicals and Reformed Evangelicals at all, I am just saying the miraculous power of the Spirit is not always welcome because of some misunderstandings and, in my belief, skewed theology. I understand that there are some wild and heretical things happening within certain Charismatic circles, but that should not affect one’s view of the continuing outpouring of the Holy Spirit’s power. I am also not bashing all Charismatics or Pentecostals, but there tends to be intense enthusiasm for a prophecy, or gold teeth, or a healing, or some sort of radical spiritual experience and because of this there is a lack of testing and discernment.
I am encouraged by men like John Piper, Mark Driscoll, Sam Storms, Wayne Grudem, Matt Chandler, Terry Virgo, C.J. Mahaney, and others outside the Reformed tradition such as Gordon Fee, J. Lee Grady, Derek Prince, etc., who desire to live in the fullness of the Holy Spirit as well as live in sound doctrine and theology. I praise God that He has given us the ability to perceive and know Him through His Word and by the experiences offered by the Holy Spirit.
So I hope you take time watch this video. There is wisdom and knowledge that Piper offers in this video that can be extremely edifying and encouraging. Be blessed.

Pizza Grilled Cheese
4 slices of bread
butter or margarine
4 slices of mozzarella cheese
pepperoni (mini or regular cut into pieces)
Parmesan cheese (opt)
pizza sauce for dipping
Warm a medium/large skillet over medium heat. Butter each piece of bread on one side. When skillet is hot place a piece of bread butter side down on the skillet then add one slice of cheese and small shake of Italian seasoning or basil (add a small shake of parmesan cheese here too if desired). Top with a desired amount of pepperonis (I used about 8 -10 whole regular pepperonis per sandwich) If any other toppings are desired, add now. Add another slice of mozzarella and top with slice bread butter side up. Repeat with second sandwich. When bottom slice is golden brown then flip over carefully. Once both sides are brown remove from pan cut and serve with pizza sauce if desired. Make 2 sandwichesWHY IS THIS JUST NOW APPEARING IN MY LIFE.
